Meet Joe

Joe graduated from Cowanesque Valley High School and attended art school at the Pittsburgh Art Institute for 1 ½ years before returning home. He then worked at the former Westfield Tannery as a laborer and proceeded to the former Metamora Products/Boral plant for 25 years where he started out as an operator and worked up to shift supervisor for 17 years.

Joe has been married to his wife Amy for 32 years. Their son Ian and his wife Tricia live in Knoxville with their two children. Their daughter Kaila and partner Gabriel are currently living in Rochester where Kaila is finishing her first year of residency in emergency medicine at Strong Memorial in Rochester. Joe and Amy are also the legal guardians of his sister, Judy, who worked for Partners in Progress and Highland Chocolate for 14 years and currently lives in Elkland.

Joe's life has been marked by his love and support for his community. He coached little league baseball for 8 years and was the popcorn colonel for the Boy Scouts for 5 years. Joe’s consistent volunteering and involvement earned him lifetime membership for the Knoxville Volunteer Fire Company, where he held many positions including treasurer, assistant fire chief, and trustee. Joe is the current treasurer for the fireman’s relief association at K.D.V.F.C. Joe also helped with many projects, specifically helping provide transportation to Caring Hands Around The Valley clients. He is also a member of Cowanesque Masonic Lodge #351 and the Elkland Moose.
