Our Mission
Joe is running again for Tioga County Commissioner. He wants to build a stronger and more cohesive relationship between the courthouse and the community. He believes in, and has always managed with, an open door policy. A good manager will always listen first before they act. Joe is an open minded Democrat who wants to earn your respect, trust, and vote.
Transparency
I believe transparency is the cornerstone of trust. Information about the county's use of taxpayer money should be easily and readily available to anyone who is curious. I will ensure that our county's government is also fiscally responsible. This is not only knowing where funds are being utilized, but verifying that the funds are placed into appropriate categories of the budget. As the former Knoxville-Deerfield Volunteer Fire Department treasurer, the current treasurer of the firemen's relief association for the department, and managing all of the vending, slip rentals, and the restaurant at Cownesque Lake, I have the skills to manage the allocation of the monies to benefit the residents of Tioga County.
Employment
For a healthy county government, it is necessary to have strong employee morale and retention. The first step is to make sure our county employees earn a living wage. To build morale, people need to feel valued and appreciated. Above all, they need to know that they are being heard and respected. I will support these initiatives in the Tioga County courthouse.
Mental Health and Substance Abuse
We need to be able to support the people of our county who are experiencing mental health issues. We need to keep the services needed to treat our residents locally and have services available when needed. The services may range from evaluation of medication to detox and rehabilitation from addiction. The entire county benefits when these individuals have access to the services they need sooner.
